Dear Chairman Paul,
Ladies and Gentlemen
Good evening,

It is my great pleasure to be here tonight at the 10th Anniversary of the opening of the EU Chamber of Commerce in China.

Let me start by congratulating Paul, his board members, Yue Zhou and her colleagues for the high-value work the EUCC has been providing to its members in Chengdu and Chongqing. EUCC has successfully set up a direct channel of communication with the Mayor Ge Honglin and Chengdu government departments. We also appreciated the recent position paper of EUCC on intellectual property.

France wishes to play a key role in the European Union and in Western China. I have noticed with great interest that many of your members are French companies such as Areva, Air France/KLM, Carrefour, Groupama, Airbus, Lafarge, Snecma, Sofitel or Veolia.

You can always count on me and on the trade department of my Consulate to provide you with assistance in your current and new projects. I wish the EUCCC a lot of success in the membership development, in the lobbying activities and in the working groups organization.

Thank you very much for your attention./.
